A West Texas man riding his bicycle suffered puncture wounds to his arms and legs after he was attacked by five unrestrained pit bulls. The man’s injuries were treated at the hospital and local deputies were able to locate the owner of one of the pit bulls.
Animal owners have a legal responsibility to supervise and restrain their animals, especially when those animals pose a threat to the general public. Certain animals, such as pit bulls, can be very hostile and aggressive towards people and their owners or caretakers should keep those animals on leashes or in an enclosed area. Many states hold these owners or caretakers strictly liable for any injuries caused by these animals, which means that the owners or caretakers will be legally responsible for paying for those damages, regardless of his/her fault. If you or a loved one has suffered an injury as a result of an animal attack, you should immediately consult a personal injury attorney who will fight to protect your rights.
